The home was transformed from uninspiring to a new look of rustic elegance with warm colors and interesting textures.We installed travertine tile floors in the adjacent laundry room, which also received new cabinetry sprayed to match the kitchen cabinets.The kitchen cabinet doors were outdated and in bad shape, but the boxes themselves were usable. So we had our contractor make new doors plus a serving counter with storage. The cabinet doors and countertops were sprayed a light taupe to contrast with freshly painted off-white walls and cream-colored trim. The cabinets now meet the new crown molding, allowing the kitchen ceiling to appear higher.The living room fireplace had been extremely plain, so we created drama by taking the fireplace wall all the way up to the ceiling and covering it in stacked stone.
