![]() Palazzo Binelli, one of the finest and most significant buildings of the 1800s in Carrara, is home until 25 June 2012 to the exhibition titled “D’aprés Canova. The 1800s in Carrara. The Academy and its Masters”. The event displays 26 chalk models chosen among the numerous works owned by the Academy and opens with an important work by Antonio Canova - Letizia Ramolino Bonaparte depicted in the guise of Agrippina - donated in 1810 to the Academy by the artist in person. The artistic and cultural itinerary then reveals the talents of the famous Carrara school - from Cacciatori to Tenerani, Bienaimè, Bernardo and Giovanni Tacca, from Finelli to Bozzoni, Chelli, Pelliccia and many others - and the currents than influenced the art of sculpture in the 1800s. |
