Project includes supermarket and affordable housing

Quinlan & Francis Terry Architects has completed its Waitrose-led development for Poundbury.

The project, for the Duchy of Cornwall working in a joint venture with Woodpecker Investments, is part of Queen Mother Square in the expansion of Dorchester pioneered by Prince Charles.

As well as a Waitrose supermarket it contains affordable housing, a local producers market and 110 underground parking spaces.

A statue of the Queen Mother, by sculptor Philip Jackson is also planned for the square and is due to be unveiled in spring 2012.
