Building marks Georgia/Turkey gateway

J Mayer H Architects has completed a border checkpoint in Georgia.

The Sarpi border checkpoint, situated on the border with Turkey, sits at the shore of the Black Sea.

The building welcomes visitors to Georgia and the architect said it represents “the progressive upsurge of the country”.

It features cantilevering terraces and the tower can be used as a viewing platform overlooking the coastline. As well as customs facilities it houses a cafeteria, staff room and conference room.
