Studio Egret West plans 34-storey Waterloo tower
Studio Egret West has been appointed to design a 34-storey residential-led tower in Waterloo, London. Christian charity Oasis is working with residential developer United House to develop the scheme at its Westminster Bridge Road site. The proposals include a tower containing flats, a community centre and charity offices. Design work is in the early stages, and the developer has said it will soon start consulting with local residents and the London Borough of Lambeth to develop the scheme. United House has worked with Studio Egret West in Lambeth before on the Clapham One scheme with developer Cathedral Group. The project also included a £29 million contract for a development at Clapham High Street’s Mary Seacole House. Oasis founder Steve Chalke said: “We are working hard to meet the needs of the local community and to develop a sustainable programme of positive and inspirational change. I am confident we can develop a scheme that builds on our work and create huge benefits for the community.” |
