David Adjaye’s site-specific installation for this year’s Design Miami fair has opened.

The architect was commissioned to create an entrance pavilion for the event after being named Designer of the Year, a title previously bestowed on Zaha Hadid and Marc Newson.

His triangular wooden pavilion, named Genesis, is made from hundreds of vertical wooden planks that curve down into seats and open up to the sky.

It will stand on Miami Beach until December 4.
