Broadway Malyan has unveiled plans for the ￡20.6 million transformation of the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham.

The venue’s modernisation aims to take advantage of its canalside location and will feature a new entrance straight from the Brindleyplace development, with large glazed views over the water and the city.

The building has not been refurbished since its opening in 1991.

Work is due to start late next year and will include improved facilities, new retail units and better crowd flow.
