Architect John McAslan has received a CBE for services to architecture in the New Year Honours List.

Victoria Thornton, founder of Open-City also received a CBE for services to architecture, and Scottish film director William Alexander Murray Grigor, who has made documentaries about architects including Frank Lloyd Wright, was honoured with a CBE for services to architecture and the film industry.

John Armitt, chairman of the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA), received a knighthood, while Howard Shiplee, director of construction at the ODA, was awarded a CBE.
