The opening of the Eli & Edythe Broad Art Museum in Michigan has been postponed until the autumn.

The Zaha Hadid-designed building at Michigan State University had been due to open this April.

But a hold-up in the supply of custom-made glass panels means construction will not be completed before the summer holidays, the practice confirmed.

The university, in the town of East Lansing, has rescheduled the opening till early autumn.

“They want to have all the students involved in the opening so it wouldn’t make any sense to do it during the holidays,” said a spokesman for Zaha Hadid Architects.
