Work has started on KPF’s 25 Churchill Place scheme at Canary Wharf in east London.

The building, for developer Canary Wharf Group, will be the new headquarters of the European Medicines Agency when it is completed in 2014.

John Pagano, managing director of development at Canary Wharf Group said: “25 Churchill Place will provide a major boost to the local economy, in terms of jobs and contracts and retaining yet another world-class organisation in central London.”

KPF has designed the building to deliver a Breeam “excellent” rating. It features photovoltaic cells and ultra-efficient air conditioning equipment which recycles the energy from exhaust air.
