AHMM has been appointed to design Google’s new headquarters at King’s Cross.

The US company currently has its UK offices in Victoria, but last week signed an agreement with developer Argent to build a new HQ on the land north of the station. BD understands AHMM is presenting final plans to Google at Mipim in the south of France this week.

According to a report in the Evening Standard, the offices will be a group of five buildings in the south-east corner of the site, which also includes shops and restaurants. Google will lease the space.

The appointment comes as a boost for AHMM, which was last year working on the £400 million redevelopment of Lord’s cricket club. But the club decided not to proceed with the ambitious plans and will instead renovate the stadium stand by stand.

AHMM declined to comment.
