Olympic Park development corporation heads announced
The organisation overseeing development in the Olympic Park after the games has announced 17 appointments to its board. Margaret Ford, chair of the Olympic Park Legacy Company will continue as interim chair of the newly created mayoral development corporation until the end of October this year. The organisation, known as the London Legacy Development Corporation, will manage development of the Olympic Park and surrounding areas of east London from April 1. It will continue the work of the Olympic Park Legacy Company (OPLC) and inherit some projects from the London Thames Gateway Development Corporation. Fellow Olympic Park Legacy Company board members to transfer include Elizabeth McMahon, who will join the board until October 31. Robert John and Philip Lewis, will serve until December 15, while David Edmonds, David Gregson, Keith Edelman and Andrew Mawson will serve until the same date the year after. Mayor of Hackney Jules Pipe, mayor of Newham Robin Wales, mayor of Tower Hamlets Lutfur Rahman and Waltham Forest leader Chris Robbins will join the board until May 1, 2014. Sonita Alleyne, Nicholas Bitel, Nicky Dunn, Jayne McGivern and Sir Edward Lister will serve for a period of three years until 31 March 2015. |
