Once you have decided to upgrade your home with natural stone, or install it in your new construction, the hardest part of the process is out of the way. Once you decided what you want, the next logical step in the process, will be to get a quote, how much will it cost? Fabricators will need some information about your project, before they can quote your job: What type of Natural Stone are you going to use (are you going to supply the material, or you want fabricator to supply it). After you find a fabricators (contractor) in your area, the first thing they will do, is schedule your job for templating. Templating is the process of coming out to your home or business, and professionally layout and glue together thin wood or plastic stencils to duplicate the way your countertop or vanity will be fabricated at the countertop fabrication facility. Some fabricators will use “Countertop Digital Templates”. Digital Template will capture digital input from the job site, bringing it to CNC machines. Once the template is completed, the job is schedule to be fabricated. Depending on the size of the job, fabrication can take anywhere from 1 to 5 days, in some cases even longer. After fabrication process is done, fabricator (contractor) will schedule time for installation. If you are replacing (upgrading) existing countertops or vanities, most fabricators will offer a service of removing the old countertops. That is the basic process, from making the decision, to the finished installation. It will usually take from 3 days to 2 1/2 weeks, and you will be able to enjoy the beauty of natural stone for many years to come. |
