Granite is a natural stone that adds elegance and beauty to any home. Commonly used in flooring and countertops, flamed granite is heated to make the surface textured. Cleaning flamed granite is no different than cleaning regular granite. Care must be taken when cleaning granite so not to damage the surface. If properly cleaned and maintained, flamed granite will last for years to come.
Daily Cleaning
1
Wipe down granite countertops with a rag dampened with plain water. Go over the countertop with a dry rag to remove any excess moisture.
2
Run a dust mop over granite floors to pick up loose dust, dirt and debris. Shake out the dust mop often while cleaning.
3
Use a sponge mop dampened with plain water to clean granite floors. Go over the floor with a dry rag to remove excess moisture.
Weekly / Bi-weekly Cleaning
1
Fill a large bucket with warm water. Add three to four drops of mild dish soap to the water. Use your hand to mix the soap and water.
2
Dip a clean, soft rag or sponge mop into the bucket of water. Clean the granite with the rag or mop and soapy water. Work in sections so that the soap does not dry onto the surface.
3
Rinse the granite with a rag or sponge mop dipped in plain water. Go over each section of granite with a dry rag to remove excess moisture.
Deep Cleaning

Pour a quarter cup of isopropyl alcohol and two to three drops of mild dish soap into a quart-sized bottle. Fill the bottle the remainder of the way with warm water. Shake the bottle a few times to combine the ingredients.
2
Spray a moderate amount of the cleaner onto the granite. Work in sections while cleaning.
3
Wipe up the alcohol solution with a clean, soft rag or sponge mop. Go over the granite with a rag or mop and plain water to remove any soap residue. Dry the granite with a clean rag.
