Flamed granite is one of the most durable floor coverings on the market. This is because flaming, or applying heat to the surface of the stone, removes the weaker particles from the stone's surface. The result is a textured floor tile that is extremely durable. This texture make flamed granite more difficult to clean, since cloths and sponges may tear on its surface. But with a scrub brush and cleaning products that are made for stone products, you can successfully clean urine stains from your granite floor.

Stone Cleaner
1
Spray a stone cleaner, full-strength, directly onto the stain.

2
Scrub the stain with a scrub brush. Cloths or sponges will tear on the granite's surface, so a stiff bristled brush is required.

3
Rinse away the stone cleaner with warm water, scrubbing with the brush to get up any stray particles. Allow the stone to dry naturally.

Poultice
1
Spread a poultice paste onto the stain. Poultice can be purchased in liquid or powder forms and may require some mixing. Follow the manufacturer's directions. The poultice will lift out any stain that has penetrated into the stone, bringing it to the surface, where it can be lifted away.

2
Cover the poultice with plastic wrap or plastic sheeting to help speed the process. Allow the poultice to sit for one hour before removing the plastic.

3
Wash the poultice off, scrubbing with a scrub brush and fresh water. Allow the stone to dry naturally.
