Marble sinks should be sealed with a penetrating sealer in order to prevent liquids and other soils from staining the surface. Sealing the marble will also make it easier to clean. Marble surfaces should be re-sealed once every year.

1
Pour the sealer into the spray bottle (some sealing products may already be in a spray bottle).

2
Clean the surface of any dust or debris. The surface must be completely dry for 12 hours before sealing.

3
Test sealer on a small, inconspicuous area and check to make sure it does not stain the surface. If it does, consult the manufacturer or retailer.

4
From a distance of about 6 to 8 inches, spray the sealer liberally on the surface of the marble until it is wet.

5
Wait three to five minutes for the marble to begin to dry and again liberally spray the surface with sealer.

6
Wait 30 minutes.

7
Wipe up excess sealer that has pooled on the surface with the sponge.

8
Wait 48 hours before allowing the surface to get wet again.
