Soap and water will work well on the stains on your granite but eventually they will leave a soapy build up on your floor or counter tops. As granite has a high amount of concentrated quartz in it, it can be scratched by traces of soil that is tracked into your home. These scratches may be invisible to naked eyes in the primary stages but eventually in course of time, heavy scratches can form on the granite surfaces and thus steal the real charm of your flooring.

As it is said prevention is better than cure, it is always better to protect your granite pieces from stains rather than trying methods to remove them. Maintain your counter tops and flooring regularly so that dirt does not accumulate and scratches do not occur. Do not use your counter tops as a cutting board, do not place acidic materials over them, do not use harsh chemicals to clean the granite laid surfaces and take care to not to drag utensils or appliances over them. If you are able to ensure that none of the above said happens then your granite laid surfaces can stay gorgeous for a longer period.
